Rumor has it that Jason Newitt, known online at websites such as Full Tilt Poker as JDN has received a subpoena demanding that he appear before the US District Court on the 14th of this month. Wicked Chops broke the story, or what there is of the story thus far …
Mystery still clouds the issue, and Newitt has thus far been unavailable for comment. Sources close to the industry believe the issue involves goings on at Full Tilt Poker however.
Newitt is said to be scheduled to appear before the Southern District of New York, who has, also according to industry sources, been investigating Internet poker sites such as Full Tilt for quite some time. The guys at Wicked Chops have speculated that the reason for the subpeona could be a part of the discovery process, or something more serious.
After all, Newitt isn’t exactly on Full Tilt Poker’s buddy list, having sued the company just last year after being fired. His termination from the company coincidentally followed a mistakenly forwarded email that leaked personal opinions of pro poker player Howard Lederer, as well as confidential information about the Full Tilt Poker hierarchy.
