There have been some changes to the Pokerstars VIP program for 2010.  It is now easier and simplier to earn VIP Player Points (VPP) and Frequent Player Points (FPP).  These changes started January 1st, 2010 and are currently in effect.

2010 PokerStars VIP Changes

  • Cash tables with 8 or more seats (doesn’t matter if players are dealt in) will earn 6 VPPs for each $1 in rake.
  • Cash tables with 7 or less seats (doesn’t matter if players are dealt in) will earn 5.5 VPPs for each $1 of rake.
  • Tournaments will earn 5.5 VPPs for each $1 of entry fees.

Of course fractional VPPs are earned for lower rake amounts.

example: In a $3/$6 No Limit Hold’em game with nine seats, five players are dealt in, and the rake is $3.00. With $3.00 USD rake, 18 total VPPs are awarded. Each of the five players would receive 3.60 VPPs.

New VIP Stellar Rewards! PokerStars has made it so when you hit each milestone you will receive a cash bonus, from $10 up to $100.  VIP Player Point milestones start at 750 VPPs and starting in 2010 there are a total of 19 milestones.  The total bonus for all 19 milestones is only a $1,000, but you have all year to get these milestone bonuses.

You goal here is to hit the supernova status.  New $1,000,000 quarterly VIP freerolls will replace the old $75,000 weekly freerolls. All Supernova VIPs can enter these freeroll tournaments for free.

You can purchase these VIP stellar rewards from the PokerStars VIP Store for 1 FPP each.
