Online poker rooms are constantly adding new poker pros and celebrities to their online poker teams as well as poker sponsorships. Two poker sites recently announced they have signed a new poker pro to their teams. PokerStars as well as Carbon Poker have both signed poker pros.

Poker pro David Williams is now a signed pro at PokerStars. The poker pro was a pro for Bodog but he left the poker site in May. He was a major part of Bodog but he was ready to part ways with the poker room. It was rumored that Williams left Bodog because he won a major tournament, the WPT World Poker Classic, and was not happy with the bonus that Bodog awarded him.

Poker Royalty the managing agency for Williams has confirmed that Williams is part of the PokerStars family. Williams should do well at PokerStars and it will be interesting to see how his career goes as he is affiliated with the poker room.

Williams became known after he finished in second place at the 2004 World Series of Poker main Event. He earned $3.5 million for finishing after Greg Raymer. Williams did get his WSOP bracelet at the $1,500 7 Card Stud tournament at the 2006 WSOP and so far Williams has earned almost $8 million dollars in live tournament play.

Carbon Poker recently announced they have signed poker player and actress Shannon Elizabeth to represent their online poker site. Shannon will be representing the online poker room at the best poker tournaments as well as play regularly at the site. Shannon will also be working with the online poker site to create marketing campaigns in which she will be featured.

Peter Hampton the spokesperson for Carbon Poker commented: “We’ve been on the hunt for a face for our brand who is recognized star and also a respected member of the poker community. Shannon easily meets both criteria, and offers a creative edge that we’re thrilled to have on board. We’re launching several promotions that will involve players playing against Shannon and getting to know her both inside and outside of poker.”

Shannon first became popular after she appeared in the American Pie movie and she has been on a roll ever since. She has emerged on the poker scene and has proven she has a talent for the game. In 2007 she finished in third place at the NBC National Heads up Poker Championship and she has cashed out several times at the World Series of Poker.

It will also be interesting to see how well Shannon does as a representative of Carbon Poker. Carbon Poker has stated they want to be in the top ten poker sites by 2011 and Shannon is part of that plan to make the online poker site better.
