Cake Poker Network

The Cake Poker Network is a very large network of poker sites encompassing some thirty online poker sites. The flagship site of the Cake Network is Cake Poker, but it has some other sites that have garnered quite a lot of attention on their own. The most notable of these is DoylesRoom. Doyles Room, which was purchased by Americas Cardroom in late 2011, utilizes the Cake Network to add to its regular traffic in ring games as well as tournaments.

Cake Network Traffic

Traffic is always good, so you can always find a game at the tables on the Cake Poker Network. No matter what your game is, up to about a $200NL Texas holdem game, you'll find enough players to get a game going. The bulk of the Cake Network's traffic comes from the United States, so players from Europe may find traffic a little thin during those times of day when American players sleep. Even so, there will probably be enough people to get a game going.

Cake Network Rakeback

One of the things that has really made the Cake Poker Network attractive to its players and has brought in a lot of new players is the 33% rakeback. A rate of as high as 33% is available on every single skin within the Cake Poker Network, meaning that serious players who play ring games, and particularly those who play low-limit games, flock to the Cake Poker Network, knowing that they can get quite a lot of extra cash just out of the rakeback. If they play well enough to keep their bankroll growing steadily, the rakeback can be enough to substantially raise that bankroll.

Cake Network Graphics and Software

While the graphics on the Cake Poker Network are pretty average, what is nice about the Cake Poker Network's graphics and software is that you can play as many as twenty-four games at the same time. That is probably more than most players can manage at once, but for many players, one or two games simply isn't enough to hold their attention. To keep the action quick, the Cake Network gives players the option of opening a number of different games. The biggest downside to the software is that it does not work on Macs. If you're a Mac owner, you'll either have to play in a virtual machine, which will slow everything down considerably or you'll have to find a different place to play. With the rising popularity of the iPad, hopefully Cake Poker will get an application for MacOS together soon.

Cake Network Customer Support

This is one place where the Cake Poker Network has gotten mixed reviews. They have customer support available by email, phone, and live chat. Customer support seems curteous, but seem to have very little discretion regarding customer queries. While they answer questions politely and quickly when asked basic questions, as soon as the question involves anything differing from basic policy or technical support, they do not seem to be able to help very much. They cannot give any extra bonuses or compensation for any problems in the software or system. This is one thing that could certainly benefit from improvement at the Cake Poker Network.
