Isildur1 Loses again to Brian Hastings

March 22, 2010 / Sadonna / News

Isildur1 has only been back for a few weeks but in that time the mystery poker pro has lost substantial amounts of cash. Isildur1 took a beating from Phil Galfond recently losing $1.6 million and then he faced off against Brian Hastings to lose another $1 million+.

Isildur1 started off a session against Patrik Antonius and Ilari Sahamies and he earned a nice win of $535,000 most of which came from Antonius. Antonius has been struggling as of late as well but he has not seen the massive losses that the mystery pro has.

After winning the $535,000 Isildur1 took on Brian Hastings. This was surprising after Hastings took $4 million from the pro back in December. There was controversy back then and I guess Isildur1 wanted to try and win back his cash.

Hastings and Isildur1 met at the Pot limit Omaha tables with $500/$1000 limits and in almost 2,800 hands, Hastings was able to take over $1.5 million from Isildur1. The two fought for awhile, with the lead exchanging hands before Isildur1 went on the downside. The two would trade leads of $400,000 to $500,000 before things starting going downhill for the mystery poker pro.

Isildur1 finally quit after he lost the massive $1.5 million to Hastings and then took a break for a few hours. He then came back to face Sahamies again, who he had took for six figures earlier in the evening. This time though, Sahamies was ready and he took isildur1 for $300,000. Sahamies earned the cash in just 1,200 hands and I bet islidur1 was rethinking hitting the tables once again.

There are several tracking sites online that keep up with player statistics such as how much they win and lose and several of these sites have estimated that Isildur1 has lost over $7 million. This is a major loss after he was a $5 million winner just last year. It has only been a few months but the online poker pro has experienced a major downswing.

The mystery poker pro has made the high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker very exciting whether he wins or loses. The poker pro throws around serious cash and takes on the best in the business. After his big loss last year the poker pro took time off and now that he is back and losing many wonder if he is going to continue or if he might take another long break.

It makes one wonder how long the poker pro will continue. He has taken a massive hit to his bankroll. How much is too much? I guess we will have to wait and see. Will the poker pro lose another $4 million before he takes another leave of absence from the game or will he begin to make a comeback and earn his money back from the poker pros?  Only time will tell, but in the meantime we will definitely be keeping a close eye on all the high stakes poker action!
