Online poker rooms are always looking for fresh faces to represent their websites and bring in more players. Representatives and ambassadors work hard to promote the online poker rooms to bring in new players and create excitement by offering special promotions as well as competing at the online poker rooms.
The latest online poker room to hire an ambassador is Party Poker. The online poker room has announced the signing of Jamie Alguersuari a Spanish F1 driver. Alguersuari will be an ambassador of the site and he will join his fellow Formula 1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella at Party Poker.
Alguersuari is the youngest driver ever in the history of Formula 1 racing as he is only twenty years old. The F1 driver became the youngest driver ever to compete after the participated in the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2009. Alguersuari has always enjoyed playing poker and he will be the central figure in promotions and tournaments at the poker room as part of the deal.
Alguersuari commented on the deal stating: “Some say that I am a novice in F1 and I would say the same about poker. I have loved the game from afar but with all my driving commitments, I have a lot to learn. I recently got my first points in F1 and am now about to secure my first Party Points at Party Poker.”
Alguersuari went on to say: “The popularity of poker in Spain is on the rise and I cannot wait to be part of it and improve my skills at the table by playing online. Poker is so popular amongst the F1 drivers at the moment, by becoming an ambassador for PartyPoker I aim to be the best of them all!”
Members of Party Poker will have the opportunity to meet Jamie through a promotion that is coming in a few months. The promotion details have not been released yet but we do know that tickets to the Valencia Grand Prix in June are up for grabs where the winner will get to meet and greet Jamie.
Giancarlo Fisichella the Italian Formula 1 driver who is also an ambassador for Party Poker welcomed Jamie to the poker site with open arms. He stated: “If Jaime has a natural flair for poker like he does for driving, he can come and join the poker elite in F1. I am not going to go into too much detail but several of my mates are good players: Kubica, Alonso, Liuzzi, Heidfeld, Glock and Rosberg are the ones I would pick out. They all love it! From what I have seen of Jaime he has the potential to be one of the best!”
It will be very interesting to see how well Jamie will fair in the poker world. He has been proving himself for some time at the race track and now he is going to learn the game of poker so he can prove himself at the felt.
