In the past we’ve seen a lot of poker run’s that involved Harley’s and bars. The ride’s preplanned, with each bar on the list giving the biker a card. At the end of the scenically planned ride, the bikers each have enough cards to make a poker hand.
It’s good for business for the bars too! Having a few hundred new customers come through, see what there is to offer. This has been going on for a few years now. So when we heard about a boaters poker run, we thought it sounded like a breath of fresh air.
Something new, exciting and different! Perhaps it’s been going on for decades, but we sure hadn’t heard of it before. It seems that not everyone finds boating for poker cards a breath of fresh air though. In fact, Chris Stesky, who belongs to the the Brockville Climate Action Group thinks pretty much the opposite.
“It’s a waste of gasoline,” Stesky told local area reporters said. “I have always thought it was a terrible waste of energy. There are so many more useful ways to use the gasoline that is used in those boats.”
Instead of gas powered boats, the over the top environmentalist thinks the boaters should use canoe’s or kayaks or something of the sort and save the environment from the hassle of this particular event which is scheduled to begin at 11:am n Brockville’s Tunnel Bay in Ontario Canada.
Another complaint by the environmentalist here was that the participants have too much money, and can buy whatever gas guzzlers they want to.
