PokerStars has been very busy as of late adding new players to their poker teams. The site recently added two new players to Australian team last week and this week the top online poker provider has announced four new players have been added to the Team PokerStars Pro Canada Team.
Joining Daniel Negreanu and Darus Suharto are: Greg DeBora, Patrick Pezzin, Marcello Del Grosso and Anh Van Nguyen. All four of the newly signed pros competed in the North American Poker Tour event which took place at the Mohegan Sun on April 6th to the 13th. Van Nguyen made it to level two as well as Del Grosso while DeBora and Pezzin made it to level four play.
The players have very impressive records when it comes to poker play and will do well on the Canada Pro team. Greg DeBora is from Toronto and he has been playing poker since the age of nineteen. DeBora began playing poker at a charity casino which was near his home and after six months DeBora found he was making money so he decided to go pro. De Bora now plays mainly at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles as well as online.
DeBora has earned over $350,000 in career winnings which include a seventh place finish in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in 2005 an a 109th finish in the World Series of Poker main event in 2008.
Patrick Pezzin is from Toronto as well and he began playing poker in 1994. In just one year Pezzin turned pro and left his job as a restaurant general manager. The forty year old pro enjoyed mixed games in LA and Las Vegas before he began to play online. Pezzin has won over $650,000 in live tournament cashes.
Pezzin has finished in the money at World Poker Tour events as well as made three World Series of Poker final tables. Pezzin has also represented Canada as the Presidnet of the Ontario Bocce Association and the Vice President of the Canadian Bocce Association.
Del Grosso is from Woodbridge, Ontario and he worked in construction before becoming a poker pro in 2006. Del Grosso has traveled the world playing poker and he saw great success in the 2005 and 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event when he finished well. Del Grosso has earned almost $400,000 tournament winnings.
Nguyen is from Vietnam but moved to Canada when he was ten years old. He now lives in Ontario and has been playing poker for fourteen years and the last six years he has played professionally. Nguyen worked as a dealer first before turning pro. Nguyen has an impressive record as well as he has finished well in the WSOP main event last year as well as the Spring Championship of Online poker main event of 2009. Nguyen has earned just over $675,000 in tournament winnings.
So as you can see the PokerStars Canada Team has added a good group of pros who will represent the team in various events as well as compete online.
