PokerStars VIP Program Changes

Important VIP Program changes

pokerstars vip changesEarlier this month PokerStars made two big changes to their VIP Club Rewards system.  These changes are alreday in effect and started October 1st.  The good news is these changes are actually in the players favor!

PokerStars VIP Reward Bonuses purchased from the VIP Store will instantly reward players with cash. In the past, players had to clear the bonus by earning VPPs equal to 7 times the bonus amount before the bonus would be credited to their account. This earning requirement is now removed and the bonuses will appear instantly!!

Another change that started October 1st, NL and PL ring games at limits of $0.05/$0.10 and below will now earn VPPs at rates faster than other higher stakes. The new rates will last at least through December 31st, 2010 – hopefully longer!

$0.01/$0.02: 12X
$0.02/$0.05: 10X
$0.05/$0.10: 8X

These new rates for micro stakes are already reflected at the new PokerStars tables created on and after October 1st, 2010. Note that the 10X multiplier from the MicroMania promotion in July has been continued unannounced and is still in effect, so the ‘older’ tables (created before October 1st) are awarding 10X VPPs.

NL/PL ring games at other stakes will continue to award VPPs as normal. All Fixed Limit games, including stakes that have been awarding 10X since July, will now award VPPs at the normal rates.

The normal VPP rates for ring games are:

8+ seats: 6X
7- seats: 5.5X
