Bodog Review
Bodog Poker is a favorite poker room for more reasons than just the sign up bonus. Bodog was established in 1995 and at the time was only involved in sports betting. Since then they have released an online casino and poker room among other involvements in the industry. Bodog has a solid record spanning over ten years for providing top of the line financial security, fair gaming and ensuring players needs are met at every level. This can be proven through the awards and nominations the company has received from accredited gambling magazines like Online Gambling Magazine and Casinomeister. Bodog offers some incredible overlays, WSOP, and WPT satellites and has become a favorite room for US poker players. Bodog also opened their doors to Canada in 2009.
The competition at Bodog.com is still loose with a lot of action seen at the micro tables. Some of this can be due to the casino and sportsbook players turning to the tables, but another factor can also be that they are one of the few quality poker rooms remaining that allow US players. The traffic at Bodog has increased at a steady rate and has created very loose games that can be quite profitable to most players.
Bodog Poker Bonus
Bodog offers a different sign up bonus than your standard poker room. Instead of bonus dollars that need to be cleared you will be receiving some of your bonus as a cash bonus up front directly deposited into your poker account to start playing with. Currently this is a 110% bonus up to $1100 which is pretty good. The only requirements are that you earn enough comp points before requesting a withdrawal. The set rate for clearing the Bodog bonus is 10 points for every $1 in rake or 3 points for every $1 in tournament fees. You will need to accumulate 3x the amount of points for every dollar added to your account before you request a withdrawal.

Deposit methods include; Deposit Options: Credit cards, checks, NETeller, FirePay, myCitadel, MoneyBookers and CentralCoin.
Bodog Poker Tournaments
The first thing worth mentioning as far as tournaments go is the overlays. Bodog still offers an impressive $100,000 GP which has a substantial overly. You can buyin directly for $100 or win your way through daily qualifiers. Other games include daily $10,000 and $20,000 guaranteed tournaments among re-buys and freezouts. Bodog offers the opportunity to play with their own team of professional players (David Williams, Josh Arieh, and Evelyn Ng) in a leaderboard challenge or winning a seat to a live event where you will play for Team Bodog. Tournaments are featured in Texas Holdem and Omaha format with re-buy, GP, freezouts all available. Tournaments are offered for as little as $1 and you can usually expect buyins not to exceed a few hundred.
Bodog Ring Games
The ring games are only available in standard format such as; Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Five-Card Stud. Bodog Poker stakes start at 0.05/0.10 and climb into some fairly high stakes, although you won’t find a lot of action past the $10/$20 NL. The majority of the traffic is geared towards the No Limit Holdem tables with some Omaha during peak hours. The room is not on the large end of the scale when it comes to player base but there is enough ring players to keep the tables going. On average you can expect to see 2500+ during peak hours. Bodog Poker takes a fixed rake at 5% and capped at $3.
Bodog Software
The software was recently updated and Bodog implemented some new features that have long been over do. These things include better layout to the tables along with customization of backgrounds. Players seated at the tables are now highlighted with a timer when it is their turn. The button dealer has been resized along with the avatars. All of the changes that have been implemented are not required to be used. You can still use the previous version of the software if you would like to. Bodog Poker offers a clean and easy to read lobby with in menu stats such as pre flop percentage, average pot size and player stack. They also support tagging of players along with grading them. The software allows for multi table play with up to three tables simultaneously with easy to use options such as mini view, full view or a combination of both.
