Sega Poker Review
When a big company like Sega puts up a poker site, the expectations are so high, it's hard not to be disappointed, but they couldn't possibly meet everyone's expectations. As the children who grew up playing Sega games like Sonic the Hedgehog are entering the world of online poker, they are certain to be excited by the prospects of playing on a Sega system. Alas, the Sega Poker site is not all that Sega-game-themed. The site has some Sega characters, but the software itself is Playtech's iPoker Network software. Sega Poker does not accept players from the United States, Japan, or several other countries.
Overall Sega Poker is a good poker site, and a decent place to play poker. Hopefully Sega will add more poker tournaments. It will not bring back your childhood memories of playing on your Game Gear, but it is good to know that you're playing on a site that is owned by such a serious and reliable company.
Sega Poker Bonus Promotion
The promotions are excellent at Sega Poker. They are currently offering a 100% sign-up bonus up to 360 Euro and then a monthly bonus of 1005 up to €/£150 for the next 11 months! Actually, they're claiming it's a 200% bonus, but if you read the fine print, you'll see that it's 100% for poker, and the other 100% goes to casino play. If you're into casino play, that's an even better deal, but if you're a poker purist, think of it as a straight 100%. SEGA PASS players get extra bonuses. There are reload bonuses. If you deposit with Moneybookers or Neteller, you'll get an extra 10% bonus. The bonuses can really add up, and the fine print is pretty average for an online poker site.

Sega Poker Software and Games
As mentioned before, they use Playtech's iPoker software, which is excellent online poker software. The game selection is average including the usual Texas holdem, Omaha high, and seven card stud, as well as five card stud. The software is easy to use, and the graphics are clean. The download version of the software is Windows-only, but there is an online flash version for Mac and Linux users and for those who simply don't want to download the software to the computer that they are using at that particular time.
Sega Poker Traffic
The iPoker Network has the third highest traffic of any poker network or site online, so you can be certain that you'll find who to play with even though Sega Poker is brand new and doesn't allow players from the United States or a whole host of other countries where online poker is not legal. There are always plenty of players online, and there are always tournaments or sit-n-go tournaments to play in.
Sega Poker Tournaments
Sega Poker has a very full tournament schedule with freerolls for new depositors as well as some unique Sega freerolls. There are specials for players who want to play sit-n-go tournaments. If players win six Fort Knox sit-n-go tournaments in a row, they'll win $50,000. For the Rio tournaments, the prize is $25,000, and for Maui, the prize is $15,000.
Sega Customer Support
The customer support is very responsive. They answer you right away and are quite knowledgeable. You can access them on live chat even without an account. They offer response by email, online contact form, and phone as well, but clearly, the live chat is a superior choice for most problems.
