That’s the rumor spreading around among players at the 2+2 poker player forums. At first it seemed like another rumor, yet we can’t help but smile and hope to get our money back. As the day has progressed there is some weight to these rumor as it is being posted among top igaming business publications like igamingbusiness and egamingreview.
Also it was announced this morning that the Full Tilt Poker purchase deal with Groupe Bernard Tapie fell through and will not happen.
First we there was the Alexandre Dreyfus (ChiliPoker CEO) tweet that says PokerStars was buying Full Tilt for $750 million, which includes the $330 million to pay back all players.
Eric Hollreiser, Head of Corporate Communications, PokerStars made a statement about the rumors:
“We’ve had a lot of enquiries and there’s lots of speculation on the forums, so I wanted to address the PokerStars chatter. As you know, PokerStars is in settlement discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice. As such settlement discussions are always confidential, we are unable to comment on rumors. As soon as we have information to share publicly we will do so.”
Stay tuned for updates, but my opinion is that this is really happening..
